“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.”
Diamond View has been making art through video since 2007, but more recently we set out to spread creativity and inspiration in a new way – and you may even recognize our art from around Tampa!
In 2018, Diamond View founded a 501(c)(3) non-profit called The Tampa Foundation with a mission to inspire Tampa Bay through positive, public art. As the Foundation’s first project, we erected a bold mural on the east side of our office building with the words ‘Dream Big’. Not only is this phrase a consistent theme internally, but it also serves as a call to action and positive affirmation for the hundreds of students who walk to the neighboring elementary school each day. It quickly became a cornerstone of the Diamond View brand identity, and when we saw the opportunity to use art as part of a greater social movement, we knew we had to keep creating.
Fast-forward to today, and Tampa Foundation has completed over 12 additional murals, and participated in a city-wide positive sign initiative. We’re also excited to announce a new partnership with the City of Tampa and Tampa’s Downtown Partnership that will bring Tampa Foundation murals to several walls in the downtown district to contribute to creative placemaking.
