BUGATCHI asked us to produce a fashion video that tells the story of their 2022 spring/summer collection. Their team was drawn to the creative possibilities of In-Camera Visual Effects (ICVFX). We worked with them to craft a concept that was grounded, yet imaginative. We titled the concept “Horizons”, and combined picturesque scenes of nature with abstract visions of infinite environments. The idea is that BUGATCHI is always looking to the next, never satisfied with the now because what’s on the horizon will change everything.

We structured our shoot into two settings. For the first setting, we constructed a shallow pool of water in front of an LED wall. Combined with dynamic camera motion, we were able to play off intricate reflections of the LED wall and our models' actions. Our goal was to use the reflections to subvert expectations of what is real vs. what is a reflection.

For our second setting, we built a large circular stage in a 120ft LED volume virtual production studio. This striking set piece literally put our models on a pedestal and elevated them to the viewer. We used dynamic motion backgrounds and plates to immerse the models in different environments. The striking contrast of an artificial stage in a virtual environment worked nicely with the story BUGATCHI wanted to tell.

Diamond View editor, Mike Csorba, brought the fire in the edit. He used a ton of dramatic effects a visual styles to cut the video together in a really unique way that pulls the viewer in and keeps them engaged. In the end, we created something that’s fun to watch and captures visuals that haven’t been seen before.
