In our recent production for Expedia, it was essential to transport our viewers to a different reality, almost like watching home videos of a family vacation or a solo trip to the mountains. We wanted the viewer to see themselves in the stories, get lost in the narrative, and connect with the characters, including our star character – West Virginia itself.

This project was a testament to what can happen when a client and director's visions align. From characters, locations, to the scenes we built, every detail was thought out in pre-production, which allowed us the time to explore on set. Our director, Vanessa Diaz, chose to use a 16mm lens, which allowed us to capture wide angles of the environment, keeping the entire scene in focus, and putting West Virginia and the VRBOs at center stage.

Our location made this shoot truly unique. We embarked on a memorable journey over two weeks, climbing mountains, touring small towns, exploring caves, and capturing the wild beauty of West Virginia. However, mountain life brought us unpredictable weather! Despite a snowy surprise in May, we persevered and captured the footage we needed. Talk about an unexpected twist!
